Can 304 stainless steel tanks used for water storage be used for wine storage? - stainless steel wine tanks
The short answer is maybe --
Types 304 and 316 are widely used in the wine industry used to find corrosion resistance in acids, alkali, disinfectant, and fermentation products. For wine, the Model 304 is satisfactory for shredders, conveyors, presses, filters and other attachments. Type 316 is for applications, an indication of cleaning products specifically for the production of wine vinegar, in which the lack of degrees of molybdenum (eg, being attacked 304) acetic acid.
Depending on the nature of the process / chemical / fermentation - 304 may not be sufficient, while the 316 would be more appropriate. So be careful, you might want to do some testing for corrosion.

I went to a warehouse formerly NH stainless steel tanks, but I think it was for the fermentation of wine. When it closed in the bottle. They do not know whether 304 or not. Steel is the metal of choice in food or beverage, manufacturing, catering, etc.
